A draft of the Limestone County Hazard Mitigation Plan update is available for the public to review and to provide comments. The purpose of updating the county’s Hazard Mitigation Plan is to minimize or eliminate the long-term risk to human life and property from known hazards in the area, such as severe weather or flooding, through effective mitigation.
Public comment on these plans allows community members to provide input and feedback, ensuring the plan is comprehensive and addresses local concerns. This process is crucial for creating effective and well-supported mitigation strategies.
The Mitigation Plan is a joint effort between Limestone County, Ardmore, Athens, Elkmont and Mooresville.
Public comments for this plan will be accepted during the month of August. Deadline will be Sunday, August 31st.
